If You Love the Persian Gulf, Build the Future That Deserves It

Iran has always moved in cycles, rising, falling, and rising again. From the glory of Cyrus and Darius, to the devastation of Mongol invasions, to the cultural renaissance of the Safavids and beyond, this isn’t new. What we’re living through now is just another down cycle. It will pass. It always does.

So when I hear that Trump is now backing the name “Arabian Gulf,” I don’t get too emotional. I see it for what it is: a signal that Iran’s geopolitical influence has faded in this moment. Name changes like this aren’t spontaneous, they’re part of bigger deals, where symbolism gets negotiated.

To my fellow Persians: Don’t get too worked up. You didn’t choose this moment in history. You just happened to be born here. But you were lucky, you were born Persian. That’s a gift. 

So hold your head high. Learn, build, create, connect.
The world doesn’t need another reminder of what Persia was,
It needs a vision of what being Persian can be.
